A.J. Puk Has Elbow Ligament Concerns
7 years agoOakland Athletics pitching prospect A.J. Puk could potentially have elbow ligament issues, according to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports Network. A week ago, Puk was shut down after being diagnosed with biceps soreness. This was after he was having a great spring that gave manager Bob Melvin consideration on whether Puk should stay with the club as a starter. Ultimately, a couple of poor outings and then the biceps soreness concerns caused the team to investigate the cause more thoroughly. The Athletics are already having issues with the health of their starting rotation and another loss would just compound the issue and add salt to the wound. This would also be a devastating loss not only to redraft hopefuls, but also dynasty league managers anticipating finally cashing in on the expectations of the sixth overall pick in the 2016 draft.
