4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher A.J. Puk allowed three runs in 1 2/3 innings in a Cactus League game against the Diamondbacks. Puk allowed three hits and two walks while only striking out one in a relief outing Monday. Fantasy managers generally shouldn't put too much stock into Spring Training stats, but given how little Puk has been on the mound, it's somewhat alarming to see him struggle versus mostly backups for Arizona. Puk has had a myriad of arm issues, including Tommy John surgery, and has only pitched 36 2/3 innings total since 2017. Puk is a former top prospect in the Oakland system and manager Bob Melvin said the plan is for Puk to start, but at this point, there's no reason to roster him in redraft leagues.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
