2 years agoThe Milwaukee Brewers have signed left-handed pitcher Aaron Ashby to a five-year contract extension worth $20.5 million. The contract also has two club options in 2028 and 2029, which could make the total value $46 million if all incentives are hit. This locks up a guy who has shown elite stuff at a very reasonable price for the Brewers. Even through his struggles, Ashby has posted very good underlying numbers. His ERA of 4.57 dwarfs his 3.45 xERA, plus he has a 26.8 percent strikeout rate. If he stays healthy, this contract will likely look very good by the end of it. This is also nice for Ashby's dynasty league owners, as Milwaukee clearly sees him as a big part of their rotation in the future.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
