Aaron Hicks Continues Heating Up
4 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks singled and walked twice against the Mets on Thursday, giving him seven hits and six walks over his last eight games. Under the hood, Hicks has been making progress on some of the factors that kept his production depressed earlier this season. Specifically, Hicks has seen his ground-ball rate drop over the past few weeks, and his bad luck (-0.031 wOBA-xwOBA, .246 BABIP) is starting to turn around as well. Home runs are still uncharacteristically difficult to come by for Hicks given his 9.7% HR:FB, but his home run output should improve over the rest of the season as his power stabilizes. Fantasy players should consider buying low on Hicks as a result and expect the outfielder to post an OPS above .800 over the rest of the season.
