Aaron Hicks Hits First 2021 Home Run
4 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks hit his first home run of the regular season on Friday, crushing a 406-foot blast against Rays starter Rich Hill. Even with the new exit velocity inflating ball, Hicks had picked up only one hard-hit ball coming into Friday's game, in part because he's struggled to put the ball in play at all. Encouragingly, Hicks only whiffed once in 17 pitches on Friday, and he may be turning the corner on his early-season slump. Fantasy managers shouldn't read much into five-game long slumps anyway and expect Hicks to hit well over the rest of the season.
