Aaron Hicks To Undergo Potentially Season-Ending Surgery
4 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks (wrist) has opted to undergo surgery to repair a torn tendon sheath in his wrist, and could potentially miss the remainder of the season, according to Pete Caldera of the Bergen Record. Hicks was placed on the injured list on Saturday after being scratched from the lineup last Thursday due to wrist soreness. It's not for certain just yet that this will be a season-ending surgery, but it appears likely that it could end up costing him the rest of 2021. Over 32 games this season, Hicks was slashing .194/.294/.333 with four home runs, 14 RBI and 13 runs scored. With Hicks out, Brett Gardner appears to be the man who will take over in left field for the Yankees.
