Aaron Nola Allows Four Runs In No-Decision
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola allowed four runs across five innings in a no-decision versus the Braves on Tuesday. Nola salvaged some fantasy value with seven strikeouts, but this was yet another disappointing performance for the Phillies' ace. Nola has allowed at least three runs in five of his last six starts, pitching to a 5.40 ERA in that span. Batters have been elevating the ball more than usual versus Nola as his ground-ball rate is 7.5 percent lower than his career average, not ideal in his hitter-friendly home ballpark. Things won't get easier for Nola in his next start against a strong Dodgers lineup.
