3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola turned in one of his best starts of the season Saturday night at San Diego, but he allowed a two-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to send the game to extra innings. Nola carried a perfect game into the seventh inning which was ended on an error by first baseman Brad Miller. That run would come around to score, but Nola still got the game to the eighth inning tied at one, and was allowed to try and finish what he started. In the ninth, however, Jake Cronenworth launched a two-run shot to soil Nola's line. On the night, he allowed two earned across 8 2/3 innings with 11 strikeouts on 117 pitches. Fantasy managers need to keep Nola locked into lineups for a matchup with the Diamondbacks next time out.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
