3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola was fantastic in his Sunday start against the Yankees, blanking New York for 7 2/3 innings while racking up nine strikeouts. Nola allowed just three hits and a walk while generating a healthy 15 swinging strikes on 103 pitches. The right-hander badly needed a start like this one as he's lasted into the seventh inning just once since April 24, pitching to a 4.95 ERA in that span. Nola hasn't lived up to expectations thus far, but his upside remains high thanks to a strong strikeout rate and the ability to go the distance any time he toes the rubber. Nola will look to build off this start in a good matchup at San Francisco on Saturday.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
