4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola allowed three runs in six innings with six strikeouts in a loss to the Nationals Tuesday. With the Phillies losing the game on the road, Nola recorded the rare six-inning CG as the game was part of a doubleheader with both games lasting seven innings. It wasn't Nola's finest effort of the season, but part of what makes him an ace is salvaging a decent start on a night he wasn't his usual dominant self. Nola will carry a 3.06 ERA with a 3.22 FIP and a 33.5 percent strikeout-rate into a start with the Rays in the last weekend of the season.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
