Aaron Nola Racks Up 10 K's In No-Decision
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola reached the 200-strikeout mark on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday. In 6 2/3 innings of work, Nola allowed one earned run on four hits while striking out 10 and walking only two. The outing was the 29-year-old's 16th quality start of the season, and it was his fifth time reaching double-digit strikeouts in 2022. He's now reached 200 strikeouts for the fourth straight season. Overall, Nola is 9-11 with a 3.35 ERA (2.64 FIP), a 0.97 WHIP, 200 K's and 24 walks in 177 1/3 innings pitched over 27 starts this year. Tuesday's outing was a nice rebound after he surrendered eight earned runs in just four innings his last time out against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
