6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola gave up three earned runs in 6 2/3 innings pitched but took the loss Sunday vs Cincinnati. Nola gave up four hits, three walks, and struck out seven in the quality start. Nola was cruising through six innings but ran into trouble in the seventh and two outs. He departed with two men on base which Jose Alvarez allowed to score making Nola's final line look worse than he pitched. Nola still has a cumbersome 4.58 ERA, but has an xFIP of 3.80 and has 86 strikeouts in 76 2/3 innings so things are looking up for Nola going forward. He's still a must-start fantasy option and should be started with confidence next time out Saturday in Atlanta.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
