3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Aaron Nola allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings pitched while taking the loss Saturday against the Blue Jays. Nola struck out eight in the contest as he continues to be a reliable source for punchouts even on days he's not at his best. Not being at his best has been a theme for Nola lately. He's allowed at least three runs in four of his last five starts since he tossed a shutout on April 18. Nola has struggled early in games as his ERA the first time through the batting order is 4.26 and his wOBA allowed is .309. He tends to get better as the game goes on but his struggles early in the game have been a concern for a few starts now. Despite that, Nola is one of the best pitchers in fantasy. He provides a high floor even when he doesn't pitch well and his ceiling is as high as any pitcher in the game making him a must-start ace in fantasy.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
