3 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (oblique) could begin a rehab assignment within the next two weeks, according to Jesse Newell of the Kansas City Star. There's still no timetable of just when he'll be able to return, but this is a step in the right direction and provides a glimmer of clarity on where he's at. Mondesi has been limited to just 10 games this year, but when he was on the field he produced at the plate by slashing .361/.378/.833 with four homers, one steal, nine RBI and six runs scored.
