Adalberto Mondesi Might Not Start In 2022
3 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (oblique) might not be the long term answer, according to Royals GM Dane Moore. Recently, Moore mentioned that he doesn't believe Mondesi is going to be an everyday player in 2022. "We're learning that we're going to have to manage his workloads in ways that he may not be a guy that plays more than 100 games. ... We can't count on him as an everyday player," said Moore. Mondesi has been limited to 10 games this season while battling hamstring and oblique injuries. The 26-year-old underwent a shoulder procedure last season, so the injuries continue to pile up. He is obviously talented, but might not be able to stay healthy enough to be an everyday player. This is certainly a big blow to his fantasy value heading into next season, assuming the Royals plan to limit Mondesi.
