5 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (shoulder) took swings off a tee and fielded grounders with light throwing Tuesday. Mondesi took about 40 swings from each side of the plate as he continues his recovery from a partial shoulder dislocation. Mondesi, who has been on the injured list since July 17, was having a big season before his latest injury. Mondesi is batting .266 with 48 runs, 52 RBI and a league-leading 31 stolen bases. He still strikes out too often and an abysmal walk rate makes him less valuable in points leagues, but he has been good enough he should be stashed everywhere. He'll probably require a rehab assignment, but Mondesi is on track to return in early to mid-August.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
