Adam Eaton Placed On 60-Day DL
7 years agoWashington Nationals outfielder Adam Eaton (ankle) has been transferred to the 60-day DL by the Nationals. The earliest he would be eligible to return is the first week of June. Eaton underwent surgery on his ankle which discovered an undiagnosed cartilage tear. The team has given no timetable for his return at this point. It is safe to assume that Eaton will miss at least a large chunk of the summer, as his injury will need to completely heal and then he will need to test it out before he is ready to come back and play baseball regularly. This is terrible news for Eaton, who missed the majority of 2017 following an ACL tear. Owners should stash Eaton on their IR for now, as he might be able to contribute in the second half of the season batting in a potent Washington Nationals lineup.
