Adam Eaton Projects To Hit Second In 2021
4 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Adam Eaton has spent the vast majority of his career batting near the top of the lineup, and that isn't looking as if it'll change in 2021. Manager Tony La Russa all but confirmed that Eaton would bat second with a high frequency during the regular season, utilizing him as both a potential bunter and hit-and-run option. Eaton is coming off of a rough '20, which saw him produce a career-worst .669 OPS and 76 OPS+. For the time being, Eaton has a firm grip on the right-field gig for Chicago, which helps his season-long fantasy appeal, even as he remains primarily a deeper league asset. Eaton's career high in stolen bases sits at 18, so managers can check their expectations at the door, even if hitting ahead of Jose Abreu, Yasmani Grandal, Eloy Jimenez and Luis Robert does increase the veteran's likelihood of vulturing runs scored.
