Adam Eaton Sees Self in Dustin Pedroia
6 years agoWashington Nationals outfielder Adam Eaton compared his playing style to Dustin Pedroia on Friday. "In ’07 and ’08 when I was still in high school and college and he was really getting in it, watching him, that’s exactly what I wanted to be," Eaton said. He elaborated further in the source article. Eaton, who has a .600 OBP in 20 spring plate appearances and homered off of Jacob deGrom on Wednesday, tore his ACL in April 2017 and then missed much of the start of 2018 with a related ankle injury before appearing in 85 of Washington's final 98 games. Eaton will likely bat second in Washington's order in 2019 after hitting .301/.394/.411 with five home runs and nine steals in 95 games last year. If healthy, he could provide mid-round value, but that injury history has pushed his stock back closer to the later rounds.
