Adam Frazier Getting More Comfortable At Second Base
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates second baseman Adam Frazier is still learning the nuances of playing the position full time. After serving in a utility role since debuting in 2016, the departure of Josh Harrison thrusted Frazier into a starting role. However, the Pirates are so confident in his bat after he made adjustments in 2018 that they're willing to let him learn on the fly at second base. He finished last season hitting .277 with 10 home runs and 35 RBI. His full-time status at second means that Pablo Reyes will likely see a lot of spot time in the outfield, along with J.B. Shuck. Frazier still having outfield eligibility certainly helps his fantasy status, so if he continues to hit he should begin having decent streaming value in mixed leagues.
