Adam Haseley Struggling This Spring
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Adam Haseley is struggling so far this spring as he competes for the starting center field job. The second-year outfielder is just 3-for-21 with nine strikeouts and manager Joe Girardi was non-committal on Haseley winning the job, which Haseley was considered the favorite for entering camp. Haseley's struggles have opened the door for speedster Roman Quinn, who is finally healthy after three separate stints on the injured list last season. Quinn isn't the hitter Haseley is, but plays great defense and has opened eyes this camp with his speed. Whoever wins the job will have late-round appeal in deeper leagues, but shouldn't be considered starting-caliber players in 12-team mixed leagues and smaller.
