Adam Thielen Restructures Contract
3 years agoMinnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen restructured his contract on Friday and will remain with the team. The restructure is expected to lower his salary cap number for the 2022 season. The Vikings likely converted a portion of his base salary this year into a signing bonus. The 31-year-old pass-catcher had ankle surgery in late December but is expected to be ready for spring workouts and training camp this summer. The two-time Pro Bowler had 67 catches on 95 targets for 726 yards and 10 touchdowns in only 13 games for the Vikings last year, and that was following a 2020 campaign in which he had 74 catches for 925 yards and a career-high 14 scores in 15 games. With quarterback Kirk Cousins back, Thielen should once again be an attractive fantasy wideout alongside Justin Jefferson in Minnesota.
