4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals right-handed pitcher Adam Wainwright will be tasked with starting Game 2 of Thursday’s wild-card series versus San Diego. He will take the ball at Petco Park for the seventh time (sixth start) in his career, looking for his first win at the yard since 2013. As has been the case for many of Wainwright’s recent appearances, Thursday could mark the final outing of his storied career. He has the undoubted playoff acumen to merit fantasy consideration, but he’ll have to deal with the slugging Padres, who posted the fourth-best OPS (.798) as a club during the regular season. Having amassed just four or fewer strikeouts in half of his starts this season, Wainwright presents a risky DFS option Thursday.--Jesse Borek
