3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright has cleared the league's COVID-19 protocols and threw a bullpen session on Thursday, potentially lining him up to return from the injured list to start on Sunday against the San Francisco Giants. Wainwright tested positive for the virus almost a week ago, but he has no symptoms and has tested negative twice since then. The 40-year-old right-hander has been solid this year with a 3.18 ERA, a 1.29 WHIP, 13 walks and 28 strikeouts over six starts and 34 innings, but he'll inevitably be a much more risky fantasy starter on Sunday against the Giants because he'll be potentially limited from a pitch-count perspective in his first game back.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
