3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright said he intends on pitching in the 2022 season, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reported. There have been rumors the 40-year-old ace is considering retirement, but with teammate Yadier Molina locked in for one more season, there could be a farewell tour for the duo on the horizon. Wainwright and the Cards would have to figure out a new contract, but fantasy managers should still be excited the dominant right-hander might be sticking around. Wainwright is enjoying a resurgence this season, sporting a 14-7 record with an impressive 2.91 ERA and 1.03 WHIP through 176 innings pitched.--Chelena Goldman
