7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright (elbow) pitched well in a rehab assignment on Monday, tossing five scoreless innings for the Double-A Springfield Cardinals. The veteran righty gave up just two hits and struck out two without issuing a walk. Wainwright's next turn in the big league rotation would come this weekend in San Diego, and he should be ready to make his return. At this point in his career, he's not much more than an NL-only option, however.--David A Marcillo - RotoBaller
