7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright (elbow) tossed five scoreless innings and struck out seven hitters with Triple-A Memphis on Saturday. He threw 90 pitches in the outing. Wainwright could return from the disabled list as early as next weekend and enter the rotation against the Tigers. The veteran starter appears to be back to full health and has looked good on his rehab assignment. Wainwright didn't look good earlier this year, though, and hasn't pitched in the big leagues since May 13. Fantasy owners should be wary about re-adding him to their lineups if he returns to the team's rotation.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
