4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Adam Wainwright (COVID-19 protocols) has been placed on the COVID-19 injured list, according to Katie Woo of The Athletic. Wainwright was placed on the injured list as a precaution after he had a family member test positive for COVID-19. Woo reports that Wainwright will not travel to Pittsburgh, but the team is hopeful he should return by Monday. After a rough first start in which he only lasted 2 2/3 innings against the Reds, Wainwright has looked good on the mound with a 2.42 ERA and 29.5 percent strikeout rate, as he's averaged nearly eight strikeouts per start.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
