Adley Rutschman Could Return Soon
3 years agoBaltimore Orioles catching prospect Adley Rutschman (triceps) is due to return to game action very soon, according to Orioles general manager Mike Elias. According to Elias, Rutschman's rehab at extended spring training in Florida is going smoothly. Rutschman, the Orioles' top prospect and the second-ranked MLB prospect per MLB Pipeline, should only be with Triple-A Norfolk for a short period before he is called up to the majors once he returns from a triceps strain he suffered in early spring training. In 2021, over two minor league levels, he slashed .285/.397/.502 with 23 homers, 75 RBI, and 25 doubles in 543 plate appearances. He reportedly had the inside track to an MLB roster spot prior to the injury and should be an immediate impact bat once he is healthy and promoted. Owners in shallow redraft formats should monitor Rutschman's progress carefully.
