4 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia went 2-for-3 with his 10th home run of the season on Friday. The 28-year-old outfielder also walked in the 10-4 loss to the Houston Astros. Garcia's 10 home runs lead all rookie hitters by a wide margin. There is a tie for second place among the rookie leaders with Yermin Mercedes, Dom Nunez, and Seth Brown all with five. Interestingly, Garcia didn't even make the opening day roster for the Rangers and wasn't promoted until April 13 when the club ran into injury issues. He had actually been designed for assignment back in February and every other team in baseball passed on the opportunity to claim him off waivers. Garcia has been getting better as the season progresses and his breakout appears to be legitimate.--Marc Hulet - RotoBaller
