Adrian Beltre Hopes the Rangers Add Free Agents
7 years agoJeff Wilson of the Star Telegram reports that Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre hopes the team adds some firepower before the 2018 season. Beltre, entering his 21st season, believes that the core roster is good enough to compete for a playoff spot and potentially a division championship, but thinks that general manager Jon Daniels should continue to supplement the roster with some of the top talent that is still on the market. The All-Star may be more optimistic about the Rangers chances than most, but he is right that there is plenty of talent available on the market. If the offense can stay healthy, the Rangers can certainly score in bunches, but the dearth of talent on the mound may allow the opposition to keep pace. Beltre himself looks to be in amazing shape, and there is no reason to think that he can't continue his All-Star level of play at the dish, especially with the prime talent around him.
