Adrian Houser Leaves Early With Thumb Discomfort
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Adrian Houser exited Sunday's Cactus League start vs. the Seattle Mariners with right thumb discomfort. The 28-year-old right-hander worked 2 2/3 scoreless innings on Sunday with one strikeout and two walks before exiting the game. Houser was having a solid spring so far as he's only allowed one run over his 5 1/3 innings with six strikeouts and a pair of walks. He struggled last season with the Brewers when he put up a 1-6 record, 5.30 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and 44:21 K/BB ratio over 56 innings. He's shown some flashes in the past, though, as he recorded a 3.72 ERA with 117 strikeouts over 18 starts in 2019. The team should provide an update on his status sometime in the next few days. It's best to avoid selecting Houser, even in the very late rounds until we have more clarity on his thumb injury.
