Adrian Morejon Lands On IL, Drew Pomeranz Returns

4 years agoSan Diego Padres left-handed pitcher Adrian Morejon has been scratched from Saturday’s start against Colorado, instead landing on the injured list with right-hander Michel Baez set to make the start in his stead. With Morejon hitting the IL, southpaw Drew Pomeranz rejoins the active roster, having been sidelined since Aug. 19 due to a strained pitching shoulder. Having been moved into a relief role in 2020, Pomeranz has been nearly unhittable this season, with just one hit allowed over his first nine innings. With San Diego acquiring Trevor Rosenthal from the Royals on Saturday as well, Pomeranz isn’t likely to see many save chances, which will cap his season-long fantasy intrigue.--Jesse Borek
