5 years agoSan Diego Padres pitching prospect Adrian Morejon was crushed for four earned runs in just two-thirds of an inning Monday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 21-year-old yielded three walks and two hits, including a two-run homer in a doomed sixth-inning appearance. Through 2 1/3 frames this spring, Morejon possesses a ghastly 38.57 ERA. The Padres No. 6 prospect was expected to compete for a hybrid role on the pitching staff but has not cashed his opportunities. After posting a 4.25 ERA in Double-A last season across 16 starts, Morejon debuted to a 10.13 ERA in eight brief major league frames in 2019. The left-hander isn’t a fantasy option outside of dynasty leagues, but his struggles could help clear the clutter ahead of the team’s top prospect, pitcher MacKenzie Gore.--Andrew Le - RotoBaller
