4 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Adrian Morejon (elbow) will undergo season-ending Tommy John surgery. Morejon had to leave his most recent start after his elbow was looked at by the team trainer- and an MRI ultimately pointed to the procedure, which is expected to sideline the 22-year-old hurler for 15-18 months. Morejon had a promising spring, striking out 17 batters in 14 innings, though the Padres will have to wait at least a year to see what they have in the young southpaw. Dinelson Lamet's return will be a welcomed addition to San Diego's rotation.--Tim Capurso
