Adrian Peterson Carries Risk Despite Favorable Matchup
5 years agoWashington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson has likely seen the last of his days as the team's full-time featured back with Derrius Guice back in the fold. As such, the volume that once helped him sustain fringe flex relevance in fantasy lineups can no longer be counted on. Peterson was enjoying a healthy 18.75 rushing attempts per game in the final four weeks before Guice came back in Week 11, but he saw less than half of that volume on the ground upon the latter's return. While there's promise in a matchup with the Lions, who are statistically the one of the softest fantasy opponents for RBs, Peterson is not necessarily the type of player to return big-time value on a split workload. Tread with caution, and trust him only as a low-end flex with a decent shot at higher upside if he can spring a couple of big plays or score a touchdown.
