4 years agoDetroit Lions running back Adrian Peterson is back in the NFC North and will face a familiar, yet formidable foe Week 1 against the Bears. Peterson was cut loose by Washington last week and was signed by the Lions to provide insurance among a running back group battling injuries. With rookie D'Andre Swift (leg) and Kerryon Johnson (knee) limited in practice, Peterson could see a healthy amount of snaps right out of the gate. But the matchup will be daunting against a Bears Defense that allowed the seventh-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs last season. Of course, Peterson could turn back the clock and burn the Bears one more time, but the smart money would suggest that the 35-year-old runner should remain on fantasy benches for Week 1.--Joey C - RotoBaller
