3 years agoAtlanta Falcons quarterback AJ McCarron (knee) was injured during the preseason showdown against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday. Despite reports suggesting that the injury was of the non-contact variety, indicating it could be severe, he may have hurt it during a seven-yard scramble for a first down. Regardless, the journeyman backup didn't return to the contest and was replaced by Feleipe Franks, a rookie out of the University of Arkansas. McCarron will have an MRI on Sunday to determine the severity of the issue. However, if he is done for the year, Franks will likely move up the depth chart behind starter Matt Ryan.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
