3 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Akil Baddoo is hitting leadoff against the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday. Cleveland is starting right-hander J.C. Mejia in the second game of a three-game series. Tuesday marks just the seventh time Baddoo has hit leadoff this season, but six of those seven appearances have come in the last week. The outfielder has been one of the best rookie hitters both in Major League Baseball and in fantasy. He's hitting .269 with a .364 on-base percentage, five home runs and nine stolen bases in 195 plate appearances. The bulk of Baddoo's starts this season have come hitting in the bottom third of the order, so as long as he continues to hit leadoff, he'll have more run-scoring opportunities hitting ahead of the likes of Jonathan Schoop and Robbie Grossman.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
