Albert Okwuegbunam Hits Injured Reserve
3 years agoDenver Broncos tight end Albert Okwuegbunam (hamstring) has been placed on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury, ruling him out for at least the next three games. Taking his spot on the active roster will be cornerback Ronald Darby, who is coming off the IR with a hamstring injury of his own. Okwuegbunam's absence opens the door for either Eric Saubert or Andrew Beck to step into TE2 duties for the Broncos, although Noah Fant still stands to see the vast majority of targets for the position within the Denver offense. Okwuegbunam hauled in at least one reception in each of the Broncos' first four games, but he also saw his percentage of offensive snaps slide on a weekly basis. He will be eligible to return for Week 8 against Washington, but check back for updates to his status as they become available.
