Alcides Escobar's X-Rays Come Back Negative
3 years agoWashington Nationals second baseman Alcides Escobar (wrist) had good news on Tuesday after he left the game early because he was hit by a pitch on his right wrist, as the X-rays came back negative, according to manager Dave Martinez. They are considering him day-to-day with a right wrist contusion. Escobar has had a solid, yet brief campaign in his first season with the Nationals after recently being called up due to all the team's injuries. He's hit .316 with a .456 slugging, 10 runs and seven RBI in 13 games and has carved out some short-term relevance in NL-only leagues as long as he continues to play every day. Fantasy managers shouldn't look too much into his performance thus far, though, as his career slash line sits at .258/.294/.345 with very little power.
