3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals outfield prospect Alec Burleson went 1-for-3 with a double and walk on Tuesday for Triple-A Memphis. The 23-year-old has had a very impressive season for Memphis and is now hitting .328 with 14 home runs and 50 RBI. At this rate, there isn't much left for Burleson to prove and the recent injury of Cardinals outfielder Tyler O'Neill (hamstring) only makes it more enticing for the Cardinals to give Burleson a chance in the big leagues. For now, that remains to be seen, but Burleson can hit for both average and power. Despite his hitting ability, managers shouldn't expect much from the outfielder on the basepaths. Dynasty managers should consider Burleson and he would be worth a flier in redraft leagues with playing time.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
