Alec Mills Gets Rocked On Wednesday
4 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Alec Mills struggled in Game 1 of Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Cardinals. Mills only lasted 3 2/3 innings and allowed seven hits, six runs, two walks and recorded one strikeout. Mills was very impressive in his first two starts of the season, but he’s fallen off of a cliff in his last two outings. Starting pitcher Jose Quintana (thumb) is looking likely to return next week, but with Tyler Chatwood (back) on the injured list, Mills is likely to get a couple more opportunities in the rotation. Mills can be avoided in all formats.
