Alek Manoah Cleared To Start Game 2 Tuesday
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Alek Manoah (illness) has recovered from his stomach bug and won't have any restrictions when he starts Game 2 of a doubleheader against the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday. Manoah was originally scheduled to start Game 1, but he was scratched due to a stomach bug. The 24-year-old right-hander will still be a little more risky in this one, but he should be started in the majority of fantasy formats. The first-time All-Star has gone 14-7 for the Blue Jays this year with a 2.42 ERA (3.30 FIP), a 0.99 WHIP, 158 strikeouts and 41 walks in 171 innings over 27 starts. He hasn't allowed more than one earned run in any of his last four starts against the Orioles, Pirates, Angels and Yankees.
