Alek Manoah Leaves Start Early
2 years agoToronto Blue Jays right-hander Alek Manoah left his Friday start against the Detroit Tigers after he was hit on his right elbow by a comebacker off the bat of Jonathan Schoop. Manoah appeared to be in a good deal of pain as he was departing during the sixth inning. The 24-year-old right-hander allowed four runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings while striking out four and walking one before leaving. Manoah is putting together a breakout season, posting an 11-4 record, 2.43 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and 114 strikeouts over 126 innings of work. Look for Toronto to update his status after Friday's game.
