Alek Manoah Roughed Up By Nationals
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Alek Manoah was touched up by the Nationals on Tuesday, allowing seven runs in three innings during the club's 12-6 loss. One of the runs he allowed was unearned as he struck out just two batters while surrendering one walk and six hits. The right-hander's six-run third inning was by far his worst frame of his short career which pushed his 2.59 ERA to 3.34, but he still owns a crisp 1.08 WHIP with 73 K in 62 IP this season. Growing pains are to be expected with rookie pitchers and Manoah is no different as he looks ahead to his next start versus the White Sox next week.
