3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Alek Manoah had trouble keeping the ball in the park on Saturday as he allowed four home runs to the Orioles over 3 1/3 innings. He started off the game on a high note by striking out the side in order in the first frame, but went on to serve up five total runs on the four round-trippers before getting pulled after 69 pitches in the fourth. The only hits Manoah allowed left the yard as he walked one batter and finished with six punchouts on the afternoon. The subpar outing gives the right-hander a 4.18 ERA and 1.14 WHIP through five starts, but he's punching out over a batter per inning with 27 K in 23 2/3 IP. Growing pains are inevitable for young hurlers, so managers shouldn't think twice about starting him versus the Orioles again next weekend.--Riley Mrack - RotoBaller
