3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Alek Manoah (back) is unlikely to make his next start on Tuesday due to a back contusion he suffered after he slipped and fell on some steps, according to Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic. Manager Charlie Montoyo said that he hopes the injury will only keep Manoah out for one start, as Thomas Hatch and Anthony Kay are the likely candidates to make the start tomorrow in his place. The Blue Jays' first round pick in 2019, Manoah has been having a nice rookie campaign so far, going 2-1 over eight starts with a 2.90 ERA, 1.066 WHIP and 31 percent strikeout rate over 40 1/3 innings of work. Consider Manoah day-to-day for the time being, and anticipate him making his next scheduled start.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
