Alek Manoah Will Serve Five-Game Suspension
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays right-hander Alek Manoah will serve his five-game suspension after dropping his appeal, per Sportsnet. The suspension was originally handed down by the MLB when Manoah hit Baltimore Orioles' third baseman Maikel Franco with a pitch earlier this month. It did not seem intentional but it led to a bench-clearing incident, albeit a mild one. Manoah started in a game on Friday and will begin serving his suspension on Saturday, meaning he just gets an extra day of rest before taking the mound again. The young right-hander owns a 3.34 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 33:11 K/BB ratio across 29 2/3 innings this year.
