4 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Alex Avila (back) was left out of the lineup on Wednesday with lower back tightness and is day-to-day for now. With catcher Mitch Garver (rib) sidelined as well, the Twins have catcher Ryan Jeffers starting on Wednesday and batting ninth. Jeffers has struggled over 10 MLB games so far this season with a .634 OPS, but the 23-year-old posted a .836 OPS over two minor league seasons and has a chance to be a useful fantasy catcher with Avila and Garver out.--Sam Chinitz
